Project number: 2010-09
Beneficiary: Maison Européenne de la Photographie

The MEP video library used to operate with videotapes only. The project sponsored by the NPF has enabled the MEP to build up a new video library using only digital support. The first stage of the process consisted in transferring the whole library onto numerous hard disks. These hard disks have been integrated to a local server. Five comfortable individual viewing posts have been set up in the library to enable visitors to watch the videos they have previously selected through the computer interface. The server is equipped with high quality cables and the videos are transferred in high speed flow.

The technician in charge of the video library is able to check the statistics dealing with the number of viewings and the kind of requests made by the viewers. He has an all-time access to the library to modify its content and add new selections.

Renovation of the auditorium control room:

The auditorium control room is equipped to view analog supports only. Nowadays photographers and video makers alike tend to use digital supports only. The reburbishment of the auditorium has been initiated and is currently on its way. Thanks to the NPF, the refurbishment of the auditorium will enable the MEP to schedule viewings of its video collection and movies with state of the art equipment.
