Among the purposes of the Nando Peretti Foundation is the promotion of artistic culture and art in all its forms. A special attention has been and continues to be devoted by the Foundation to the support of individual artists, through the funding of individual scholarships, exhibitions, publications or concerts.

Olimpia Ferrari is one of the young artists whose talent and work NPF has enthusiastically encouraged and supported over the past few years.

Born in Rome in 1980, Olimpia Ferrari combined her passions for travel and for photography from an early age. Through her camera lens she has explored countries as varied as Mexico, Egypt, Morocco, Thailand, France, Switzerland, Portugal, Greece, Japan, and the United States.

In November 2004 she had her first solo exhibit, "Travel Pictures", at the Casa Italiana Zerilli-Marimò of the New York University.

In April 2005 she showed at FotoGrafia, the Rome International Festival, in the group exhibit "East is East" at the Galleria del Cortile. That same year she began to experiment with digital photography, executing works on the contamination of plant structure by urban structure.

Olimpia Ferrari studied photographic techniques under the supervision of teachers such as Bob Sacha (Magnum/National Geographic) and Adrian Carter (École de Vevey, Geneva). In 2006 she attended the International Center of Photography of New York, where she came to work with Eugene Foster (Coordinator, Digital Media Lab) and Richard Toonkel.

The Nando Peretti Foundation has supported Olimpia Ferrari from the beginning of her career as an artist, encouraging and sponsoring her work.

In 2007 the Foundation sponsored her solo exhibit titled "Metrochip-Microchip", at the Pastificio Cerere in Rome, within the VI edition of the International Festival of Rome "Fotografia".

Subsequently, in 2009, the NPF awarded her a scholarship to attend a two-year Program in Advanced Photographic Studies at the New York's School of the International Center of Photography (ICP), which eventually allowed her to gain a Master of Fine Arts Degree and grow as an artist.

On the occasion of her most recent work project "Young in the Future", the Nando Peretti Foundation has renewed its support to Olimpia Ferrari, making possible for her to show her work in a solo exhibition at the MART (Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Trento and Rovereto), an internationally recognized Museum.
