The project had the aim to develop and stimulate research and debate on Seventeenth Century Painting and Music.
Two main events were organized which had the goal to attract attention of the international community and Italian Institutions towards young scholars and researches, as well as to stimulate new perspectives, visions and approaches.
The two events organized were a concert and an international conference in Rome involving important and institutional sites as the Italian Senate and Palazzo Barberini.
The concert presented an innovative programme - played by young and promising musicians - on XVII century Italian musical styles considering the main four capitals Rome, Florence, Naples and Genoa all created around Caravaggio's Lute player.
Caravaggio's famous painting, kept in the Hermitage Museum collection, was the focus and junction subject of the International Conference where leading and emerging talented scholars and researches (24 speakers) gathered to discuss and present new hypotheses and interpretations on the painting.
