Provide Help and Hope to Orphaned and Destitute Children in India

Project location: INDIA, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala
Project start date: July 2012 - Project end date: December 2012
Project number: 2012-014
Beneficiary: Hope Abides

Mission for the Rural People is an orphanage run by an Indian Christian pastor in the Indian State of Andhra Pradesh. In addition to running the orphanage and a church, he is constructing a school for the village children. A supporter from the UK helped them with the building of the foundation. Hope Abides added money to the grant from NPF to finance the second stage of their construction - which they refer to as the basement. This is the area that will be underneath the floor. It is not the same as a traditional American basement. It is basically a brick wall built up a few feet, then filled with dirt, bricks, iron and cement. This raises the entire school up a few feet so it will be level with the road. They also used the money to help construct the pillars, as shown in the pictures. Thanks to the support of Nando Peretti Foundation, phase two work is now complete.

Step three will be construction of roof supports. They are currently working on funding for that phase.
