Project location: ITALY, Various
Project start date: February 2001 - Project end date: January 2007
Project number: 2000-04
Beneficiary: IUCN European Regional Office

The Nando Peretti Foundation co-funded with the European Commission the AEMBAC project, an undertaking of the IUCN European Regional Office.

The overall objective of this project is to define a European framework for the development and evaluation of appropriate agricultural practices at the local level, which will both safeguard the environment and respect the social economy of the area.
In technical terms, the project aims at developing a methodology to "internalize" environmental externalities deriving from agricultural practices, using a comprehensive and interdisciplinary approach in order to maximize the benefits coming from the multifunctional character of agriculture.
