Creativity, Art and Technology in Sant Martí Vell With Fundación Princesa de Girona’s “Ellas Hablan Código IA” programme

On 22 September, the Nando and Elsa Peretti Foundation hosted a special educational day in Sant Martí Vell, organised by Fundación Princesa de Girona, bringing together creativity, art and technology.

The event took place within the framework of Generación CODE “Ellas Hablan Código IA”, an initiative that aims to reduce the gender gap in science and technology and encourage young people to explore scientific and technological vocations.

The day welcomed two groups of 25 students from Girona Est, from Col·legi Sagrada Família and IES Montilivi. Through talks, interactive activities and creative workshops, the students explored the connections between technology, creativity and artistic expression.

The programme included a session with Eugenia Silva, entrepreneur, model and promoter of the “Ellas Hablan Código IA” programme followed by an inspirational talk by Guillermo Gauna-Vivas, founder of Ayúdame3D and recipient of the 2020 Princess of Girona Social Award.

A major highlight of the day for the students of IES Montilivi, was the Elsa Peretti & Ellas Hablan Código Challenge, an exploration of creativity inspired by Elsa Peretti’s work and her enduring connection with nature. Stefano Palumbo, Board Member of the Nando and Elsa Peretti Foundation, accompanied the students in discovering Elsa’s legacy firsthand in Sant Marti Vell, accompanied by Pascal Weber, CEO of the Nando and Elsa Peretti Foundation and Daniela Jenni, Head of Philanthropy of the Nando and Elsa Peretti Foundation, who also joined the students and participants throughout the day.

Following the visit, discovering Elsa’s world, students then developed their own creative proposals inspired by the landscape of Sant Martí Vell and Elsa Peretti’s designs for Tiffany and Co. Their work was subsequently presented and digitally scanned for the creation of a unique piece using artificial intelligence and 3D printing, connecting Elsa Peretti’s creativity and innovation with new technologies.

The initiative reflects the partnership between the Nando and Elsa Peretti Foundation and the Fundación Princesa de Girona and the shared committiment in supporting young people, fostering creativity and opening new pathways to culture, education and innovation, as part of the ongoing partnership between the two foundations.
