Inauguration of the AURA Elsa Peretti Academy

On 3 December 2025, AURA oﬃcially inaugurated the Elsa Peretti Academy, a space conceived to foster talent, autonomy, and opportunities for individuals with intellectual disabilities. This project marks a significant advancement in AURA’s longstanding commitment to inclusion, equality, and the promotion of fundamental rights. Supported by the Nando and Elsa Peretti Foundation - Delegació a Catalunya (NaEPF), the Elsa Peretti Academy provides structured training, personalized support, and environments designed to inspire growth, confidence, and meaningful participation in society. As a pioneering center in Barcelona, it oﬀers dedicated programmes for education and personal development, opening the door to new academic and professional pathways for people with intellectual disabilities.

The inauguration was held in the presence of Maria Cabré, Director of Aura Fundació, Glòria Canals, Founder and President of Aura Fundació, Stefano Palumbo, Board Member of the Nando and Elsa Peretti Foundation and Montserrat Tomàs, Deputy Director General for Care for Disability and Dependency.

The newly opened Elsa Peretti Academy aims to enhance quality of life through an emphasis on technology as a key tool for reducing the digital divide faced by individuals with disabilities in an increasingly digitized world. In addition, the Academy will serve as a hub for a wide range of artistic activities developed by AURA, including dance, singing, reading, theatre, drawing, and photography, designed to promote creative and artistic expression. These activities support the development of cognitive and social skills, encourage personal challenges, strengthen self-esteem, improve communication abilities, and foster deeper social inclusion.
