The EnableMe Foundation is a Swiss non-profit organisation established in 2020 with the mission of developing inclusive digital platforms that enhance the lives of individuals with disabilities and chronic conditions. Building on the long-standing MyHandicap initiative, active for over 20 years, EnableMe has evolved into an international network operating in five countries and reaching millions of users annually. Its approach combines digital innovation, social responsibility, and human connection, leveraging technology as a tool for empowerment and inclusion.
In Ukraine, EnableMe has become a key reference for digital inclusion and psychosocial support during the war, and has been recognised by the Ukrainian National Council for Television and Radio Broadcasting for its non-political social advertising campaigns. The conflict has significantly increased the number of people living with disabilities due to injuries, trauma, and disrupted medical care. Many face limited access to reliable information on rehabilitation, legal rights, and employment, alongside persistent barriers to social and economic participation.
EnableMe Ukraine responds to these challenges through a digital platform offering accessible information, expert guidance, and peer support for persons with disabilities and their families. The platform provides structured content on health, rehabilitation, social services, and inclusion, alongside moderated online communities where users can exchange experiences and access practical advice.
Since 2022, EnableMe has directly supported more than 3 million people in Ukraine through its platform, helping improve access to essential information and services amid crisis and recovery efforts. Supported by the Nando and Elsa Peretti Foundation (NaEPF), the initiative further advances the Foundation’s commitment to promoting human and civil rights, particularly in contexts of conflict and protracted humanitarian crises, while contributing to the restoration of dignity and opportunity for those most at risk.
The project pursues a set of interconnected objectives aimed at strengthening inclusion and support systems. It provides a comprehensive digital resource hub delivering accessible information, expert guidance, and step-by-step support, while fostering a safe peer and expert community that promotes psychosocial well-being and shared resilience.
In parallel, the initiative enhances access to education and employment by connecting individuals to inclusive job opportunities and training programmes, while reinforcing communication and accessibility standards to ensure content is usable for people with cognitive and sensory disabilities. At a systemic level, it builds partnerships with Ukrainian institutions and businesses to promote inclusive practices and expand employment opportunities.
The project is expected to further expand its content and outreach over the next three years, including new modules on inclusive employment, vocational training, and psychosocial well-being. Activities are coordinated from Switzerland in partnership with Ukrainian disability organisations, ensuring content accuracy, local relevance, and alignment with humanitarian principles. It is expected that more than 1 million people with disabilities and their families will benefit from the programme each year.
