With Love Halston Inc. is a non-profit corporation with a mission to provide scholarships to rising design students and to promote education on the history of American fashion, particularly the work of Halston, who was one of the nation’s most iconic designers.

Halston personally appointed his niece, Lesley Frowick, the guardian of his archives. In that role, her mission is to disseminate the Halston legacy as effectively as possible. She has partnered with fashion industry experts Steve Gold, Audrey Schilt, Patrick Morgan, and Scott Vogel, to launch the scholarship initiative With Love Halston. The team works to teach students about Halston’s contribution to fashion through educational talks, books, and scholarships. Through global outreach and fundraising events, With Love Halston Inc. aims to pursue its mission and grow in a positive manner. Its team is bringing the Halston legacy to the next generations and, in doing so, helping to shape the future voices of fashion and design.

The Halston Contest offers fashion design students the opportunity to design clothing inspired by Halston, by using sustainable Ultrasuede, the fabric popularized in the 1970s by Halston himself. The challenge allows students to get hands-on experience with a luxury brand and aims to educate rising designers on the genius of Halston. Eight students were chosen to design clothing inspired by Halston. Three of them will win awards for the most creative marketable product and will receive first, second, and third place awards in the amount of US $5.000, $2.000, and $1.000.

In 2023, With Love Halston partnered with the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York, the Eskenazi School of Art, Architecture + Design, Indiana University in Indiana, USA, and the Marangoni Institute in Paris, France. The three finalists of the contest received a special scholarship and the opportunity to have their fashion illustrations published in the FIDA: The Fashion Illustration Drawing Awards book.

The contest received a grant from the Nando and Elsa Peretti Foundation to help cover expenses and scholarships in memory of Elsa Peretti and Halston’s long-standing friendship.

“Halston was very American, a brilliant man and a very hard worker, I learned all my discipline from him.”
